Editorial Policy
Effective date: 3 September 2026 | Last updated: 27 September 2026
This policy explains how Business Registration Nepal researches, writes, checks and corrects the guides on businessregistrationnepal.com. Every guide is written by CA Poshan Babu Basnet, Chartered Accountant (Member, ICAN), and checked against official sources before it is published, because a wrong fee or deadline costs a business money. Meet the author on our About page.
In short
- Facts come from Acts, government offices and the Nepal Gazette.
- A fact we cannot confirm is left out, never guessed.
- Each guide is written by CA Poshan Babu Basnet, Chartered Accountant (Member, ICAN).
- Guides are checked again when laws, fees or forms change.
Our Editorial Standards
Our guides follow 4 editorial standards:
- Accuracy: every claim traces back to primary law or a regulator.
- Primary sources cited: the OCR, IRD, ICAN, DOI and NRB, and the Companies Act 2063, Income Tax Act 2058, VAT Act 2052 and FITTA 2019.
- Plain writing: written in English, one question per page, and no superlatives or guarantees.
- Dated guides: every guide shows a visible "last reviewed" date.
Who Writes Our Content
Every guide on this website is written by CA Poshan Babu Basnet, Chartered Accountant (Member, ICAN). The author checks each figure, deadline and legal rule against its source, and adds practical notes from our client work where they help a reader.
- Author: CA Poshan Babu Basnet, Chartered Accountant (Member, ICAN), more than 10 years of experience. Profile on our About page.
- Author box: every guide shows the author's name, photo and profile.
How We Research and Cite Sources
We research every guide from the law outward: the Act or rule leads, the official portal confirms it, and secondary sources only support them. Each guide lists its sources with links and the date we checked them.
- Statutes and regulators are the primary source, checked on the official portals: ocr.gov.np, ird.gov.np, ican.org.np and doind.gov.np.
- Figures are verified before publishing: fees, thresholds and deadlines are checked against the current law and the latest Nepal Gazette notice.
An article by another firm is never the only source of a fact. When two official sources disagree, the guide says so and presents neither figure as settled until it is confirmed.
How We Keep Content Accurate and Up to Date
We review a guide whenever a law, fee schedule, form or deadline changes, and after each annual budget, since the Government of Nepal revises fees and thresholds through the budget. Every guide is reviewed again on a fixed schedule of every 6 months, and the date under the page title shows its last review.
An outdated figure is corrected as soon as we confirm the new one from an official source.
Corrections and Feedback
To report an error, email info@businessregistrationnepal.com or send it through our contact form with the page link and the correction. We check the report against the official source and reply within 5 working days.
When the report is right, we update the guide and its "last reviewed" date.
Independence and Compliance
Our guides are educational, not advertising.
Our content follows ICAN's Guidelines on Marketing Professional Services: facts only, no superlatives, no guarantees, and audit information that stays factual and pull-model, with no audit fees or audit client names. A guide is general information, not professional advice for your company, as our Disclaimer sets out.
